Three, two, one, blastoff….
March 21st, 2016Three, two, one, blastoff…. The first week of shows have gone out onto the www and I hope you enjoyed them. My thanks to Howard Stern and Will Lee for being the first up to bat. I appreciate all of your comments and input via email and comments on my Facebook page. There is always a bit of apprehension when taking on a new endeavor but I have to say after jumping into the deep end of the pool it feels pretty, pretty good. I once read “if you waited till you were 100% ready to do something you wouldn’t do anything” because you never will be 100%. It feels good to get out of my comfort zone and see what I’m capable of doing. To be honest, none of the moves I’ve made in my career were planned. They were triggered by situations I didn’t think would happen, but I’ve learned that what you think won’t happen will probably happen. There are no guarantees in life and I think I’m better off living that way and adjusting accordingly. And while there are still many unknowns right now, I’m up for what lies ahead and hope to have a long run via the Internet. Keep your feedback coming, and I will be tweaking and tweeting along the way.
Coming up this week, conversations with Rich Melman, Founder and Chairman of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, based in Chicago and operating over 100 restaurants in 10 states and John McDonough, President and CEO of Stanley Cup Champions, the Chicago Blackhawks. Rich and John both had a middle class upbringing in Chicago and both went on to become very, very successful. But through all their success they have remained humble and terrific people to be around, sharing their knowledge about life and business willingly with no airs. It has been a pleasure to know them and watch their ascension over the years.
I am beyond grateful for their friendship.
