What’s In A Name?

October 4th, 2019

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is now the Kenneth C. Griffin Museum of Science and Industry because Ken dropped 125 million on the institution. Years ago I said the city of Chicago should sell the naming rights to everything it owns because at that time it was only 300 million in debt, now it’s 850 million in the hole. So let’s get going here. How about Bob Evans City Hall, Liquid Plumr Lincoln Park Zoo, Home Depot O’Hare International Airport, Dick’s Sporting Goods Midway Airport, Taco Bell Lake Shore Drive, Dunkin’ Grant Park, IHOP McCormick Place, Papa John’s Soldier Field, Jim Beam Navy Pier, (any cannabis dispensary) Oak Street Beach, Food For Less Northerly Island, and Illinois Taxpayer White Sox Park. Now the real money shot would be to sell the naming rights to the entire city…..Jeff Bezos Chicago for example. Do it Mayor Double L, there’s no shame in this. In fact there’s more shame in letting a city rack up almost a billion dollars in debt.

Gunga, galunga,
