Tom Brady Is NOT The GOAT
February 8th, 2021Ok so Tom Brady has now won 7 Super Bowls and labeled the GOAT (greatest of all time) and blah, blah, blah. Yes he can throw a football with great precision and yes he does perform remarkably well in his field for 43 years old but that skill mostly benefits just Tom and his family. I’d like to “throw” an accolade to someone who most likely will never be labeled a GOAT nor experience the riches Brady has amassed but uses her time to benefit others in a very smart way. Nigerian born activist Eradajere Oleita moved to Michigan as a high school sophomore. She’s 25 now and decided to help the homeless in the Detroit area by taking used potato chip bags and making them into sleeping bags. Eradajere cuts the bags open, irons them and then lines them with plastic. They’re durable, waterproof, extremely lightweight and the bags’ foil lining reflects body heat. It takes about 150 bags to make one sleeping bag. Ms. Oleita has set up a website to gather bags. These are bags that otherwise mostly end up in a landfill or on the side of the road. “I want people to think about these things and for our products to come full circle. I have never been shy of humanitarian work because firstly I am…a human,” Ms. O said. Most of the northern states have hit a brutal winter patch and I wonder who homeless people in those areas would find more beneficial to their life right now, a guy who can throw a ball or a woman who can offer them a sleeping bag? The only benefit Tom Brady provides in this food chain is he does something that facilitates the sale of chips. I think Eradajere Oleita deserves a trip to Disney World.
