There are currently two tote boards working this year, one, the number of people who have been vaccinated and, two, the number of mass shootings. Let’s talk about the latter shall we. Pure and simple I say STOP reporting them because now and actually for several years all it is is slaughter porn for TV news. Nothing is learned that we don’t already know and nothing is accomplished in the wake of the shootings. We barely digest one shooting before we are on to the next one as the Atlanta/Boulder massacres have shown us. Let me restate that, the news media is basically lighting one slaughter off the next one like a chain smoker. The Atlanta atrocity was pushed into the ether as soon as word came out of Boulder that multiple people were murdered including a policeman. I ask WHY are we hearing about these at all anymore since the routine is exactly the same? It becomes a political football, 2nd Amendment, blah, blah, blah, not the right time to talk about it, yada, yada, yada, hard to nail down people who do this in advance, tap dance, tap dance, tap dance…..and…scene. If nothing happened after kids were mowed down at Sandy Hook and 600 people were shot in the street in Vegas you’ve got to figure that nothing is going to change. This ladies and gentlemen might be the new normal, yes mass shootings might just be part of the fabric on how we go about our lives in this country. Just hope you’re not at the right place at the wrong time. Please tell me what is the difference from say when the Columbine bloodbath happened to Boulder’s horror as far as news outlets reporting these stories? You can see how this is slaughter porn right? Ok at the very least I would ask these programs that traffic in these shootings to please, please, please omit any pictures or the names of the psychos who unleash this madness. Research has shown that these events trigger, no pun intended, other events. Many of the people who do this are ignited and inspired by previous nutballs. They get off on seeing their name and image around the globe. So at the very least can we not give them that satisfaction?? New tote: there have been 103 mass shootings in the US so far this year.
