Living in an a la carte society
October 20th, 2020I guess we now live in an a la carte society. For example, I was at the grocery store recently and the guy in front of me at the cashier was not wearing a mask and he appeared to be the only one in the entire store not wearing one. When he left I made a comment about it to the cashier and she said the store has a policy that you have to wear a mask to enter but her boss said not to say anything to someone who is not wearing one. Oh so I guess we all get to pick and choose what rules or directives we want to follow and if you don’t feel the need to go along, well just skip it. Now you are the authority on what is a pandemic and how much inconvenience you will bear. A number of people feel that Covid is no worse than the average flu and based on that they will not wear a mask in public. Having a sign at the entrance to a business that states “you must wear a mask to enter” is worthless if you as the manager of that business have decided that you’re not going to enforce it. Hey, I feel that security checkpoints at airports are not necessary anymore since we have not had a foreign terror attack here for almost 20 years so I would like to bypass said checkpoint. Ok? We’re all adults here, at least those of us over 18, so let US decide what dictums we need to follow. This damn government is just stifling my freedoms all to hell. Some of these freakin’ speed limits are so low that I can’t get anywhere so I choose to set my own speed especially on side streets when there’s nobody around. F..k 25 mph, I need to get somewhere and 60 mph will do it faster. Again, if there’s no one around what harm can it do? Getting back to airport security here’s what I’m willing to do, if they take down the security checkpoints I would like to bring a gun onboard the plane just in case there’s trouble and that I believe would be a nice trade-off so I can avoid those security lines. It’s an a la carte society, you pick and choose what fits your lifestyle as far as following orders and discard the rest. You are the expert on everything and don’t let anyone tell you anything differently. If the only parking space left is in front of a fire hydrant I should have the option of parking there with no consequences. Capeesh? Thousands of people believe the Earth is flat and I’m guessing 99.99999% of them also think wearing a mask in public is total bullsh.t.
