Whenever I have a few minutes to kill and feel motivated I turn on the local tv news and often I am rewarded, not with information I can use necessarily but with unintended entertainment, or maybe it is intended. Ninety percent of the stories on local news have nothing to do with ninety-five percent of the viewers. They can divvy up the remaining ten percent with weather and sports and that “funny” animal vid they pulled off the internet. How a house fire has anything to do with anybody but the homeowners and their insurance company is beyond me but yet house fires seem to be a staple of local tv news. However, the local tv news jackpot is when all the lemons line up in a row and the fun pours out which happened recently in Oklahoma when a blonde white female anchor turned to her black male co-host and said he looked like the gorilla in the piece they just aired from the Oklahoma Zoo. Bingo Santa Domingo!! As of this writing I have not seen that exchange but have watched the apology piece that aired the next day. I’m studying it like people study the Zapruder film. She tears up during the apology and touches his arm, he has a look that could kill as he touches her leg. The whole thing is so bizzaro that it could be lifted and seamlessly inserted into Saturday Night Live. In fact I don’t know why SNL even bothers since reality is its own parody now. Back to the blonde bim, who btw was wearing the standard issue tight cocktail dress, you have to wonder what goes on inside her noggin but what it really points out is these people should not wander off the TelePrompTer. Ad libbing is not their strong suit as witnessed everyday when you watch any given newscast and see the exchange between the weatherperson and the news anchor…now that’s funny…..not! Oh and I really like when reporters wear jackets and hats that have their station logo on them because the logo on the bottom of the screen and them ending their piece telling you who they work for isn’t quite enough and the anchor in the studio thanking them for their report as if the reporter just volunteers for this. Love it all! Now I’m going to step out of the way so you can take a look at this train wreck.

Gunga, galunga,
Garry
