What do you think the guy who runs Sears feels every morning when he gets up? Well first of all I’m guessing he feels he didn’t get a good night’s sleep and second… WTF! You’ve no doubt heard this nugget, “Sears was Amazon a hundred years ago, you leaf through a catalogue filled with thousands of items and it would be delivered to your door.” Then Jeff Bezos shows up 25 years ago and starts selling used books out of his garage delivered to your front door and now JB sells everything including I think front doors and Sears is hanging by a thread. How did Sears let this happen? They had the infrastructure in place, all the trucks and the stores and all they had to do was transfer it online. Well they’re online now and when I googled Sears here’s what I got…”Sears closing 26 more stores in October and that number includes 5 Kmart stores.” Back in the 90’s Bezos probably thought well the used book market seems pretty wide open so I’ll do that and then he started selling toothbrushes, pillows, vacuum cleaner bags, dog food, and well just about everything. However, Sears sold just about everything too, you could buy a house from Sears! I guess it’s not as cool to get something in a box from Sears as it is from Amazon or people who went to the stores didn’t want to buy a dress that was next to a washing machine. I wonder if Jeff wakes up everyday and thinks “I can’t believe I’m the richest guy on the planet and all I had to do was take the Sears template, burnish it up for the 21st century and just print money. It must be nice to pay your ex-wife 36 billion dollars in a divorce settlement and still have well over 100 billion left all because you deliver stuff in a cardboard box. And the only thing Sears is getting delivered in a box is STORE IS CLOSING signs. Yep, they ordered them from Amazon.

Gunga, galunga,
